Pasadena Chalk Festival

On Sunday, Theresa, Jacob and I joined Ruston in Pasadena for the 20th annual Chalk Festival.

You can read all about it here in the Pasadena Star News - Pasadena Chalk Festival

The massive, two-day display of temporary art - recognized as the largest street-painting festival in the world - has drawn to a close. But not before attracting well over 100,000 art-lovers to the heart of Pasadena to witness it.
"It's just a fun atmosphere and great art," said Theresa Flowers, who strolled the grounds of the Paseo Colorado with her husband, Michael.
The couple said they were most impressed by the lifelike depictions some of the artists created with their chalk, such as a representation of a Time magazine cover featuring Albert Einstein and a chalk rendition of Vincent van Gogh's "Starry Night."

Most of these I'll just post without comment.

This one almost looks like you could dip your toe in the water.

This one was one of my favorites of the day.  It looked amazing!  The shading and detail were impressive.

There were tons of artists here.

Off to the side it said, "She said yes!"

We've seen the actual statue of this one in the Vatican back in 2007.

Hunger Games

An interesting beverage company was giving out samples.  Some company called "Coke".

Tasty enough.  We'll see if it catches on...

This is what happens when super heroes land on pavement.

If I ran Star Wars....  by Dr. Suess

I thought this was a really interesting take on the Justice League.

For dinner we all went to Islands and had their endless island fries!

Go Avengers!  Love the little Nick Fury on the side.

Looking forward to the new Batman movie coming out.

Gotta love Dumb and Dumber

This one looked ultra photo-realistic.

For dessert we all went to a frozen yogurt place called 21 choices.

Mmm.  Tasty...

Well it was a great day!  Let's do it again next year!
