We're pretty big fans of the UFC, and wouldn't you know it, a lot of our friends are too. On Saturday, one of Theresa's favorite fighters happened to be fighting in UFC 158.
Because each UFC is usually a ~5 hour event, we decided to make it a dinner party with everyone bringing something. There was plenty of food including BBQ chicken sandwiches, 2 types of sausages, chips and guac, a veggie tray, salami and cheese, strawberries, mangos and pineapple. Wow!
And for dessert there was a cookie tray, chocolate covered strawberries and Cadbury Creme Egg cookies that Eliza made.
It was a fun evening with a full house. Good thing we have an oversize couch.
The fights all night were entertaining, and it's always so much better to watch them with a group instead of on your own. Like any UFC event, there were the boring fights with no fighters being aggressive, but there were a few others like the Johny Hendricks fight where every other hit snapped the guy's head back and you were surprised to see him still standing.
The final fight of the night was the main event, and though it went all five rounds, I think everyone enjoyed the show. Now I'm really looking forward to the Jon "Bones" Jones vs. Chael Sonnen fight. Maybe we'll host another event then too...
