Ready to go!
After an uneventful flight, we were in Colorado! While we waited for our ride to show up, the kids burned off some energy.
Ian was very happy to see his Pop Pop.
And I'm sure Alli will warm up to Jon soon enough.
Hi Gram!
Ooh. What a pretty tree! And look at all the ornaments that are within grabbing distance.
Gram has so many fun toys.
Time for bed. Emma can read Alli some books.
So what to do with the rest of the night? It's Christmas, so why not a Christmas movie. Home Alone! We couldn't find it streaming, so we did the next best thing. Pulled out the old VHS tapes and VCR! Tsk, Tsk. Who didn't rewind it when they were done.
Good thing my mom still had our old Turbo Winder.
All set to watch Home Alone with the family.
True to her southern blood, Alli loves having grits for breakfast.
Patrick is off this week and brought everyone a really fun game. The kids got really into it. It involves 5 rolls of saran wrap and lots of little toys wrapped between the layers. The person to the left of the unwrapper has a pair of dice, and as soon as they roll doubles, it's their turn.
We attended a Christmas Eve service.
Sitting up in the balcony gives us a pretty good view.
It's tradition to open 1 present on Christmas Eve.
It's always pajamas though...
With the family gathered around, we listened as Jon read The Polar Express.
And then while the kids set up the nativity, I read the story of Christmas.
Kids are in bed dreaming of sugar plums. Time for our next Christmas movie. Home Alone 2! Mom found Jon's old Talkboy.
Tomorrow is Christmas!
