This weekend kicks off Pixar Fest at the Disneyland Resort! It runs all the way until Sept 3rd, 2018, so we've got plenty of time to see it all. The first PIXAR themed hats we're wearing are from Monsters Inc.! Sulley is from Tokyo Disneyland, Mike is from Disneyland, the Monster University hat from a halloween costume, and hardhat from Disney On Ice.
When you arrive an hour past opening, you should expect to wait in line to park for about 15 minutes.
Alli loves Sulley and Daddy.
And Ian loves Mommy.
The kids both love riding Luigi's. Just after getting our lane assignment, Cast Member Mark came over and asked if we'd like to go pick our cars before everyone else! Um, for sure! I don't know if it was the Monsters hats and Pixar Fest, or he was just being really nice, but the kids loved getting to run out for their cars first.
Mark told us that all Luigi's cousins had names, and asked the kids which ones they were going to pick.
"The Pink One!" for Alli. That's Cousin Rosa, said Mark.
Ian always likes the cars with luggage racks, and Mark said he could understand that. How about cousin Elizabetta then?
There's that luggage rack that makes this car different than many of the others.
And knowing they all had names, I then had to go out and do my research. The Disney Parks blog was there to answer my questions. And now we'll know for next time.

No trip to Cars Land is complete without a trip to Mater.
While we're waiting in line, Ian keeps an eye on the green-eyed baby tractor. When the gates open, he's off like a flash.
While we waited for our Toy Story fastpasses to mature, we walked right on to Ariel.
Time for those Toy Story fastpasses. Me and Alli rode together.
Ian is getting a lot better! He scored 81000 points! Whoever rides with him can't expect to get the easy targets, because he knows where they are and is trying to get them all too!
Alli is getting better too. Just needs to remember to aim her cannon lower. But she's good at pulling that trigger.
And I had a pretty good day! You have to top 300000 point to earn a bear! I've only won him a handful of times before. Those 500k scores are insane!
On the way out, we had to find a photopass photographer to get some family pictures.
Scary pose, scary pose, scary pose.
Time to head over to Disneyland. We all enjoyed a spin on Buzz Lightyear.
Loving these new popcorn buckets.
Let's eat! Red Rocket's Pizza Port is being re-themed to Pizza Planet from Toy Story. There's a few skins on it that are new, but all the food is the same as before.
After splitting a slice of pizza, they were both excited to try the special Little Green Man parfait.
And now that they've eaten two of the eyes, it's a Mike Wazowski parfait.
Ian and I whipped around on the wildest ride in the wilderness.
And Alli and Theresa took pictures of each other with the phone while they waited for us.
Nice picture Alli.
Ian really wanted to do Tarzan's treehouse. When Alli saw Tarzan she said "He don't have any clothes on!"
And the kids both loved the climbing ropes at the end.
Nice work buddy.
Good hanging Alli.
And they could even make some music while 'trashin the camp'.
There's so much more to do as part of Pixar Fest. Lots of new foods to try, a new parade to see, and soon enough some new rides!
