Recognized by Hasbro since 2006, September 16th is National Play-Doh day!
Started as a wallpaper cleaner, for some reason, once sales diminished, it found new life in the classrooms as a replacement for modeling clay.
With the grandparents here, they were more than happy to help celebrate the day!
And wow, that's a lot of colors of Play-Doh.
After sorting them into colors it was time to start getting creative. Everyone had an idea of what to make.
Everyone was trading colors for their designs.
I made a solar system with the Sun, Mercury, Venus, Earth and the Moon, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn.
Pop Pop with his bum hand made a golden egg.
Gram made a fun tic-tac-toe board.
The kids made all sorts of things. Tea cups, a tree, and who knows what.
A swimming pool, butterflies, and more.
I love the creativity!
Such rich Play-Doh colors to create with...really lends itself for those creative juices to flow...everyone came up with a unique creation. So wonderful how "old-fashion, low-tech" toys/games can be so much fun and engaging. EOM
