Happy Valentines Day!

Happy Valentines Day! We're celebrating just 1 day late, for reasons that will become clear in future blog posts.
But both kids have been looking forward to this day for a long time. Not just because of the candy that's associated with Valentines, but also for our annual Valentine meal.

Plus we've got visitors! Awesome!

Clink forks!

Ian and Alli both love having fondue. And any time they ask for it, the answer is always the same. We'll have fondue on Valentine's day.
As it got closer and closer, the kids would remind us/confirm that "we're having fondue for Valentine's, right?"
First up is a tasty cheese fondue. Fresh crusty bread and apples are favorites for dipping.

Next is a delicious chocolate fondue. We've gone though lots of different variations on recipes, even grating chocolate bars at one point. Now, our favorite is very simple. Chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, a little butter, and vanilla.  Super simple.
Along with marshmallows, the kids love dipping pineapple, strawberries, and bananas.

Happy Valentine's Day!

  1. Something fun for Ian & Alli to always anticipate for Valentine's Day! The chocolate fondue sounds good with just about anything :-) Looks like a fondue family gathering! EOM

    1. Truly, anything goes well with the chocolate fondue. I think Ian even dipped bread in it. It's a nice treat for a special occasion.
