Sour Watermelon Peeps

It's time to try the next Peeps on our list. Today we're tasting Sour Watermelon Peeps. Once the flavor was decided, Ian ran to his room to change into a more appropriately colored outfit. Long-sleeved red undershirt, with a green t-shirt on top. Looks great Ian!

So what kind of thing goes with Sour Watermelon? When I'm thinking Sour Watermelon, I usually think about the Sour Patch Kids Watermelon candies. They start Sour then turn Sweet.

Chalk Your Walk #chalkyourwalk 2020-03-29

We're "Safer At Home" here in Los Angeles, but that doesn't mean we can't still find fun things to do. There's lots of things people around the neighborhood are doing to stay in good spirits. Bears in the windows for people on a "Bear Hunt", leaving extra fruit out from a tree in the backyard for anyone to take, and smiling and waving as people pass by on their inevitable walks.

I heard about the #chalkyourwalk where people were writing encouraging messages for people to enjoy on their walks as well. At about this time, Ruston and I would usually be thinking out our Pasadena Chalk Festival entry and maybe even have a practice session. I think we can make something pretty cool. The kids have always wanted to help on a mural and they were excited that they'd get to help out today.

Root Beer Float Peeps

Time for the next Peeps taste test! This time we're tasting the Root Beer Float flavor.

And today we're going to be tasting them alongside root beer floats that we make at home! Guess which one is Alli's and which one is Ian's.

Saturday Morning Cereals - Chocolate Frosted Flakes with Marshmallows

Time for another tasty Saturday morning cereal. Back in December, we tasted 7 different kinds of Frosted Flakes. In my search for different flavors, I didn't see these Chocolate Frosted Flakes with Marshmallows anywhere. But on a random trip to the store, sure enough these were staring at me from the cereal aisle. I couldn't just leave them there.

We have to try all the things!

Cotton Candy Peeps

We're kicking off our Peeps taste test with Cotton Candy Peeps for no other reason than the kids wanted to try it first. 

And we're trying them alongside some tasty cotton candy.

I don't know if I'm just noticing it this year, or if this has been going on for a while, but I've seen more Peeps flavors this year than I can remember.
And even though we're stuck inside for the time being, I've got a good queue of taste test treats ready to go.

There's a 9 different flavors of the Peeps Chicks that I found this year. More if you include the Bunnies, but I'm drawing the line at Chicks. So this year we'll be trying Original Peeps, Blue Raspberry Peeps, Hot Tamales Peeps, Fruit Punch Peeps, Sour Watermelon Peeps, Root Beer Float Peeps, Party Cake Peeps, Cotton Candy Peeps, and Pancakes & Syrup Peeps.
I'm also going to do my best to try them with what they represent too.
The kids are amazed at the total number of there are to try, saying that if we had just one more flavor, we'd have 100 Peeps!

Le Meridien Resort on Bora Bora Pt2 2020-02-07

Time to continue our trip to the Le Meridien Bora Bora! We left off with us waiting for a boat at the docks on Bora Bora.

Chick-Fil-A Waffle Potato Chips compared to Chick-Fil-A Waffle Potato Fries

Got an interesting taste test today. Chick-Fil-A is one of our favorite fast food restaurants to eat at. And yes, California is on a "Safer at home" emergency order. It's going to make for some crazy times ahead. For the moment, drive-thrus are open, so I placed an order using the Chick-Fil-A app to get everyone some lunch.
One of the things I saw that has always intrigued me are the Waffle Potato Chips. We're not going anywhere any time soon, so why not a taste test comparison!

Chick-Fil-A Waffle Chips ($1.99) have existed for years now. Because the regular fries don't hold up well for catering orders, the chips were created.

Saturday Morning Cereals - Hershey Kisses Cereal

Let's try another Saturday morning cereal!
Is it a candy? Is it a cereal? It's both! General Mills and Hershey's have teamed up to make Hershey's Kisses Cereal!

We're tasting them alongside the chocolate Hershey's Kisses.

Getting to Bora Bora Pt1 2020-02-07

Last night we landed in Tahiti. Our ultimate goal today is to get to the island of Bora Bora and the Le Meridien Resort.

Happy Saint Patrick's Day! There's a few things going on today that are worth writing about. We'll start where we usually start. With the food.
McDonald's has sold the Shamrock Shake since 1970 and it's always a treat to see it back each year. Wow, 50 years of the Shamrock Shake!
Originally it was lemon/lime flavored, but now it's mint flavored with a hint of lime. And new this year in a limited release Southern California market, the Oreo Shamrock McFlurry!

Flying to Tahiti/Bora Bora to celebrate our Anniversary! 2020-02-06

Wow wow wow. Theresa and I are getting away for a vacation by ourselves for the first time in a long time. How long? Well, Ian is 6, so yeah, a little over 6 years. It was a big 2 week trip to Italy and France back in 2013.
It's early February and for this big anniversary celebration, we're going some place warm. Tahiti and Bora Bora! Both sets of grandparents are watching the kids so we know they're in good hands.

There's no question that we love Pringles. Way back in December we had a taste test where we tested 19 unique flavors of Pringles! So when my brother Patrick found a new flavor of Pringles that I haven't tried yet, he bought it and made sure I got it.

Happy Pi Day! 3.14

Happy Pi Day! March 14, or 3.14, is day we celebrate the ratio of the circumference of the circle to the diameter. It's also a good excuse to eat pie!

We're sampling three different pies today. Cherry, Apple, and Blueberry.

Saturday Morning Cereals - Jolly Rancher Cereal

Time for another Saturday morning cereal. This one is a bit of an odd one.
Jolly Ranchers are super hard candies that get stuck in your teeth. I certainly don't think about cereal when I think about them. But the good people at General Mills did.

And we're tasting them along with a bag of regular Jolly Ranchers.

Saturday Morning Cereals - Mega Stuf Oreo O's - National Cereal Day March 7th

A new Oreo's cereal? Yes please! And it's National Cereal Day too?
Back in October 2018 Post brought back 6 fun cereals which included Oreo O's and Golden Oreo O's.
These Brand New Mega Stuf Oreo O's are meant to represent one of the biggest creme filled cookies Oreo makes. To do that, Post has taken their regular Oreo O's and added marshmallow! Everything is better with marshmallows.

We're pairing these with the Oreo Mega Stuf cookies. At one point, these cookies had the most filling out of any Oreo cookie ever. Those were surpassed by "The Most Stuf" cookies which were a limited edition, and then recently brought back a second time. You can check out a comparison of the amounts of all the Oreo Creme fillings here.

Oreo Popcorn - National Oreo Cookie Day - March 6th

It's National Oreo Cookie Day! With as many taste tests as we do with Oreos, we can't let a day like this pass unnoticed. And so, for this special day, I've got not one. Not two. But three special Oreo treats to try.

There's Cookie Pop Oreo Popcorn, Mega Stuf Oreo O's, and Oreo Pudding. And of course we'll be trying them with the original product they represent too.

Hostess Dark Chocolate Raspberry Creme Cupcake

We're still finding things from Valentines Day to try. This time it's Hostess Dark Chocolate Raspberry Cupcakes! And we're fortunate enough to have Gram visiting for this taste test too!

Similar to the Strawberry Donettes we tried, this packaging is covered with hearts and very much in line with Valentines Day.

Cheetos Popcorn compared to Crunchy Cheetos

Sam's Club has been pretty good lately for finding unique things for our taste test. This time it's Cheetos popcorn!

Inside is regular popcorn but with that neon orange coating.

Lemon Crisp Kit Kats

Kit Kat is on a roll. For Halloween they made Pumpkin Pie Kit Kats. At Christmas it was Sweet Cinnamon. Valentine's Day brought Raspberry Creme. I was looking forward to what they'd come out with next. I thought it would be something Easter related.
On a recent trip to Colorado, my brother surprised me with a bag of these new Lemon Crisp Kit Kats! Not Easter related, but instead a celebration of Spring!

The packaging is nice and bright. There are lemon slices and flowers on both the outer packaging and the individual packages.
