2020 Flowers Disney Easter Egg Eggstravaganza

We love doing the Eggstravaganza Easter Egg Hunt at Disneyland. Theresa and I have been doing it since 2013! When Ian came along, we made sure to do it again in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019. In the last few weeks before bed, the kids have requested that Daddy read them our old Easter Egg Hunt stories.
This whole quarantine thing is throwing a wrench in lots of things. I wasn't happy that we are going to miss out this year.
But, I'm creative. I can figure this out.

Hey Kids! You'll never guess what has happened! Duffy the Disney Easter Bunny has come to our house and hidden Disney Easter Eggs for us here!

What do we need to go on a Disney Egg Hunt?
Ian - Baskets?
Alli - A map! And stickers!
You nailed it Alli!

I grabbed an old scan of a map, printed each of the eggs on a sheet of paper and cut them out, modified the map to put a fun picture of our family, updated the locations of the eggs, and printed a bunch of stickers. Printing stickers did make things a little more difficult. I could have made paper cutouts and had them glue or tape them, but I'm going for authenticity and it's got to be stickers.

Theresa gave me some Avery labels, I printed out tiny egg stickers, and then we cut out the egg shapes. Afterwards we put them back onto the non-stick paper so the kids could peel them off easily.

I took video of the whole thing, edited it, and exported it into one long video. The pictures below are mostly outtakes from the video.

You've got your maps kids! Off you go! First area is the Living Room!

Wow, she's looking so big.

They could be anywhere. We're not going to make this super easy.

Looking into what they call their "Haunted Mansion".

It's Donald, hiding on the back of the couch!

Find your Donald sticker and put it on the right spot on your map.

Next, it's time to look in the Dining Room.

Time to look for eggs in their room.

Not a surprise that Alli found Minnie Mouse by her bed.

And behind the door, Ian found Mickey!

Where could an egg be hiding in the kitchen?

I think Alli is on the trail.

Yes, some of these we placed intentionally. It's Goofy's Kitchen.

And in the garage?

Mater's garage.

Only 4 eggs left to find and I think they're all outside! Shoes first.

And can't forget our face masks. We're very lucky to have Grammy to sew us cloth masks. And Gram to send us lots of nice fabric.

The next egg is in the front yard. Their playhouse has a tree on one side, making it a treehouse, right?

Chip and Dale have a Treehouse at Disneyland in Toontown. So it's not surprising that we found Dale here in this Treehouse.

There's still another one on the outside of the garage. Of course it's Lightning McQueen.

Over on the side yard there's another egg. Hi Chip!

And in the back yard, Pluto is keeping an eye on things from the top of the trampoline.

They've got them all! Nice job kids! In all, it took about 20 minutes to find all 10 eggs.
Easter Bunny Duffy is checking their maps to ensure they both found everything and got the locations right.

And it wouldn't be an Eggstravaganza Egg Hunt without a prize at the end. Star Wars Disney Easter Eggs for both of them! C-3P0 for Alli.
