It's Sunday and it's pizza day! We've done so many up to this point. My sister-in-law suggested that we need to do Stuffed Crust Pizza. We haven't done that yet! Let's tackle it!

Saturday Morning Cereals - Chocolate Toast Crunch

Happy Saturday! Time for another cereal taste test!
We've already tried regular Cinnamon Toast Crunch and Cinnamon Toast Crunch Churros. Today we're going to be eating Chocolate Toast Crunch!

These cereal squares have real cocoa and cinnamon, as opposed to all that fake cocoa and cinnamon you see everywhere. And if we're going to be eating the cereal, I'm going to have to make some chocolate toast to go with it.

Happy Birthday Kit Kat! - Taste testing Kit Kat Birthday Cake

Time for another Kit Kat taste test! Did you know that today is Kit Kat's Birthday? August 29th, 1935, which means it's turning 85 today!
To celebrate, we've got a birthday cake flavored Kit Kat bar! We're excited! We recently read the Kit Kat taste test we did from 2016. Alli was a baby then and didn't get to participate, so the kids want to redo that soon.

And of course we'll be trying it alongside a piece of birthday cake! Pink candle on the packaging. Better get a pink candle for our cake too.

Phineas and Ferb - Candace Against The Universe

Ever since we started watching a lot more Phineas and Ferb, appropriately at the beginning of the summer, the kids have been excited for the new Phineas and Ferb adventure to come out. Finally on August 28th it was released on Disney+.

Since we've survived our first week of school at home, plus what felt like an extra long week of work, we were excited to make a fun night out at the movies for it. The 80" TV screen helps complete that movie theater feel.

Making Pick Up Stix at Home!

It's the middle of the week, but that doesn't mean we can't make something special at home. I think Pick Up Stix should be something we can knock out without too much trouble.

A Samoas knock-off taste test comparison

There's two Girl Scouts cookies that I have to have every year. Thin Mints and Samoas, but my favorite of the two are Samoas. That combination of Coconut, Chocolate, and Caramel is so good! Theresa and her mom agree, Samoas are the best cookie around!
There's only one problem. Girl Scout cookies are only sold for 6-8 weeks a year, starting around late January. What are we to do for the rest of the year?
Back in 2010, Keebler had the answer. They started making their Coconut Dreams cookies! Keebler was the first, but the others weren't too far behind.
Today we're going to be trying the three different versions we could find and see which one is the winner!

Today we're happy to get to try a new M&M flavor. Has it really been November since we've had a new flavor to try? The new flavor is Fudge Brownie, so you know what that means. We've got to make brownies ourselves!

Pizza at Home - BBQ Chicken Pizza

Our little Pizza at Home experiment every Sunday has been a fun challenge. What can we do different every Sunday with pizza?
Tonight we're making a BBQ Chicken Pizza. Did you know that the BBQ Chicken Pizza was created in 1985 by the California Pizza Kitchen? I know I always think about CPK when I think of this kind of pizza.

A Twix Candy Bar Taste Test Comparison

Did we not just have a massive amount of chocolate yesterday? I thought we'd be tired of chocolate for a little while, but NOPE!

Today we're doing a Twix Candy Bar taste test! And this taste test is sponsored by... Mama Karen! She sent the kids some money for the summer to do something fun and we thought that a taste test and an outdoor toy would be something fun.
So today, there's 4 different Twix Bars that we're going to try!

The Original Twix bar with Caramel (Left Twix only please), Twix with Creamy Peanut Butter, Twix White Chocolate, and Twix Cookies and Creme. I know that I've seen a Dark Chocolate Twix Bar too, but from what I can tell, it was released in 2017 and isn't available any longer.

Ian loses his 3rd tooth - National Tooth Fairy Day - August 22nd

Today is National Tooth Fairy Day!
Ian has been working on a loose tooth for the past couple weeks now. A few days ago I told him that this weekend was National Tooth Fairy Day and he was excited. His goal was to wiggle it just enough so that he could pull it out then.

Making the Belmont Shore Chocolate Festival at Home!

Tonight we're going to be doing our best to recreate the Belmont Shore Chocolate Festival at Home! We had so much fun making the Belmont Shore at Home with Jacob a couple weeks ago, we knew it wasn't going to be too long before we did it again. Now the Chocolate Festival at the Belmont Shore is only 1 day for about 2 hours around Valentines Day. We've got another 6 months until it's Valentines Day, but we just can't wait.
It's time to bring on the chocolate!

Planning this one was a lot of fun. And I don't think any ideas were rejected. If someone wanted to make something, then absolutely, make it! In the end, I counted 15 different chocolate items!
Buckle up because this is going to be a long one.

Skittles Drink Mix flavor packets - Drink the Rainbow

It's a hot one and the kids were wanting something cool to drink. I've got something special I've been saving for just such an occasion. I happen to find these while I was walking around Walmart and couldn't resist.

Inside we'll find four, yes only four, flavors of drink mixes. There's Strawberry, Orange, Sour Apple, and Grape. Where's the Lemon flavored Skittle drink mix?

Disney Treats at Home - Turkey Legs and Chili Lime Buttered Corn on the Cob

It's time for another round of Disney Treats at Home! This Disney treat can be found in a few different locations, but for me, when I think smoked turkey legs and buttered corn, I'm thinking the Frontierland Ship to Shore Marketplace right at the edge of the Rivers of America.
It's there that you will find ginormous Smoked Turkey Legs and delicious Corn on the Cob.
I've been missing these and so, let's try to make them at home!

Ian's Watermelon 3 ways Taste Test

Ian has been thrilled to have his sister back home. They've been having fun playing together, but he wanted to do something extra special for her.

Pizza at Home - Napa Rose Signature Pizzetta

Got a short one, but a sweet one (literally) tonight.
A few nights ago we made an entire meal from Disneyland's Napa Rose. One of the best parts of the meal was the Signature Pizzetta. I didn't even count that as a Pizza at Home, so since it's Sunday, we're going to make it again!

It's a beautiful weekend here in Southern California. During our nightly reading, in one of our Hawaii stories, we'd read about how much we enjoyed eating Hawaiian Shaved Ice.

A Flamin' Hot Cheetos Popcorn Taste Test Comparison

It's time for another Cheetos Popcorn Taste Test. Earlier this year we compared the regular Cheetos Popcorn to Crunchy Cheetos. This time we're firing things up a bit and trying out the Flamin' Hot version, along side both Cheetos Flamin' Hot Puffs and Cheetos Flamin' Hot Crunchy. It's going to be a hot one today!

The color of the day is definitely Flamin' Hot Red.

Making El Pollo Inka at Home!

Tonight we're recreating a Southern Californian original. El Pollo Inka is a Peruvian restaurant, started in 1987 in Lawndale California. Theresa and I end up going here a lot for their lunch specials to break up our work day. Their food is pretty delicious, so I think I we're going to take a shot at recreating it at home!

Phew! Well it's not always sunshine and rainbows.
Sometimes things go wrong too. Thankfully she's back home and feeling better. Good thing Alli is a tough cookie.

Pizza at Home - White Sauce Garlic Chicken and Spinach pizza

Happy Sunday! As it has been for the last few months, Sunday means pizza day at our house. And I've been attempting to make a new style of homemade pizza every week! Tonight we're changing thing up from our usual red sauce pizzas and going with a white sauce pizza. The toppings I most associate with white pizza are chicken and spinach, so that's what I'll be making tonight. Let's hope it's delicious!

Making Jamba Juice at Home!

We've done smoothies a few weekends, but today is the day to finally try to recreate Jamba Juice at home. On a hot summer day, smoothies hit the spot just right.

Saturday Morning Cereals - Cinnamon Toast Crunch Churros

We've got another round of cereals coming up and they all have to do with Cinnamon Toast Crunch! Before this, I really didn't know that there were all that many flavors. For our first cereal, we're having Cinnamon Toast Crunch Churros! Since we like to taste it along with something, let's have it with homemade Churros!

Lucky Charms Marshmallows

Those kids! They're always after those Lucky Charms.
And the best part about Lucky Charms is, of course, the Marshmallows!

So when I saw that Kraft (the same company that makes Jet-Puffed Marshmallows) was making a brand new product of Lucky Charms Marshmallows, I had to get some! Apparently at the end of the rainbow there's a pot full of these Lucky Charms Marshmallows!

Making The Melting Pot at Home!

Tonight it's time for a special Make At Home meal. When the kids found out what it was, they asked why we were having it since it wasn't Valentines Day. That's because tonight we're having a special fondue. We're making The Melting Pot At Home!
There's two main things we like at The Melting Pot. The melted cheese.

And the melted chocolate. We've never been big fans of the Entrees there. What's that good about boiled meat? So tonight we're doing cheese fondue and chocolate fondue! Should be tasty!

Making Village Inn French Silk Pie at Home!

We certainly love our desserts here at the Flowers' house. But in the battle between cakes, cookies, ice cream, pastries, or pies, there's one dessert that reigns supreme for me. It's got to be pie, and the one pie that I love the most is the French Silk Pie from Village Inn. If I'm ever back in Colorado visiting family, either my parents or my brother will pick one up for me since they know I love it so much. There's no Village Inns anywhere in California, so I'm out of luck if I want one.
This weekend we're celebrating my birthday, so Theresa said she'd make me my very favorite dessert. Awesome! Take it away Theresa!

Disneyland at Home - Making Napa Rose at Home!

Today is going to be a really good one!
One of my favorite restaurants anywhere is at the Disneyland Resort at Disney's Grand Californian Hotel. Napa Rose! I've had many delicious meals from there and there's a few things I will always get.
It's my birthday this week and if we weren't stuck at home, I would have wanted to eat at Napa Rose. But if we can't go to the Napa Rose, we're going to bring the Napa Rose here!

Pizza at Home - Calzones

It's the weekend which means it's time to attempt another style of pizza at home! Boy we've been busy with this series. So far we've made Chicago Deep Dish, a classic Margherita, Thin Crust, Detroit Style, New York style, Little Caesars, Bagel Bites, and French Bread Pizzas.
Tonight we're going to make Calzones, which I'm still going to count as part of our pizza series. It's really just a pizza that's been folded in half. Let's get started!

Saturday Morning Cereals - Froot Loops with Marshmallows

These kids love their Saturday morning cereals. Especially the ones that have marshmallow in them. Their favorite so far has been the Chocolate Frosted Flakes with Marshmallows. When I saw these Froot Loops with Marshmallows I decided to give them a try. The kids are still in their PJs but they're ready for a taste test.

Froot Loops have been around since 1963, and Toucan Sam has always been the mascot. Originally it was only 3 colors, red orange and yellow, but in the 90s, green blue and purple were added. Let's take a closer look! As Toucan Sam would say, "Follow my nose! It always knows!"
