Happy Saturday! 2021 is the 50th Birthday of Pebbles Cereal, both Fruity Pebbles and Cocoa Pebbles, being released! Post has started to release a lot of other interesting variants based on them this year. We've already tried the Fruity Pebbles Crisps and Cocoa Pebbles Crisps, and there's a few more things in the works.
But today, in honor of the cereals 50th birthday, we're trying all the cereal flavors that are regularly available.
Theresa, the kids, and I are ready to go on all sorts of new adventures! And why not start with something we've never explored in Colorado. Historic Manitou Springs!
Happy Sunday! We're in Colorado visiting family for a few weeks, but we're continuing our Sunday pizza tradition! And since it's been so long since we've cooked for anyone other than ourselves, why not take some special requests.
For Sunday pizza, I asked Pop Pop what kind of pizza I should make, and immediately he knew he wanted thin crust pizza. What about toppings?
Pop Pop - There's no way to make my pizza wrong, but I like lots of meat on it.

It has been a bit of a crazy week! More on that in a future post, but we certainly can't forget about Pizza Day! It's tradition!
One of the fun things about being home in Colorado is getting to eat all the classic meals that I grew up eating. One of those is meatloaf, and I figured, why not try to take it and turn it into a pizza! We'll see how it turns out!
Time for a Fruity Pebbles Ice Cream taste test! It's the 50th anniversary of Fruity Pebbles being released and there's a ton of new stuff coming out.
I thought when we tried 12 different Funfetti things it would be the be-all and end-all Funfetti taste test. But after we did the taste test, and in the week that I was writing it up, Funfetti went and announced a brand new product. Oreo Funfetti!
Ever since the kids saw Sand Dune Park a few weeks ago on our 10 mile hike in Manhattan Beach, they've been asking me when we were going to go. It's not quite as easy as just showing up and hiking it. But I heard their cries and went through all the steps to make it happen.
And so, today, we're at Sand Dune Park in Manhattan Beach!
Not long ago we had Key Lime Pie M&Ms. M&Ms are made by the Mars Corporation, but Hershey's must have gotten the memo too, because I just found Key Lime Pie Kit Kats.
And now that vaccinations are becoming more common, we're finally able to see people! The kids' cousin Aubrey is here visiting and she loves Key Lime Pie. This is will be perfect!
Happy Pizza Day! This week we've got visitors! Aubrey and Rita are here from Michigan! I asked what kind of pizza they wanted today and Aubrey had a special request that I've never made before.
Buffalo Chicken Pizza! I love buffalo wings! Should be tasty!
The kids have really been missing seeing family for the past year. Before all this COVID stuff, we would be going somewhere or having someone visit us almost every month! So they were thrilled to learn that their Aunt Rita had received both of her vaccination shots and was going to come pay us a visit! (Forgive the mess, we were in the process of packing up the house and moving).
One of the questions Ian had while we were driving to Colorado was "Can we play in the snow?" Driving into the state, we saw that Pikes Peak had a lot of snow at the summit.
Well Ian, it's almost May, so I'm not sure how good the chances are that we'll be playing in snow before summer.
Turns out that just 1 week later, temperatures would drop enough that we did have a small snow storm! The kids were super excited to look out the window when they woke up to see big fluffy snow flakes falling down!
This past year with COVID has been pretty eye-opening for us. It's helped us realize that there's a lot more to life than working, and that we need to prioritize spending more time with family.
And so, to do that, Theresa and I are leaving our jobs, and we're moving out of California!
It's almost May the Fourth, which is affectionately known as Star Wars Day. We're in Colorado, for reasons I'll get into in a later post, and we're celebrating with my brother Patrick, his wife, and their daughter.
Happy Star Wars Day! (at least coming up soon, May the Fourth be with you). What better time to try out our Star Wars cereal!
