It's no secret that Alli loves Snickers. They are her favorite candy bar ever. For a little while I've been collecting different kinds of Snickers bars whenever I see them. Now it's finally time to have the taste test!
Alli - This is going to be good! This is going to be good!

Inside, instead of nougat there is peanut butter ice cream, along with caramel and peanuts. Mmm. These are delicious! Peanut butter ice cream and chocolate, yes please.
Next Alli wants to taste the original Snickers bar. Because of the heat in the RV on travel days, these have lived in the freezer for a while.
Created in 1930, Frank Mars named the Snickers bar after their favorite family horse.
Inside a layer of nougat is topped with caramel and peanuts. The whole thing is coated with chocolate. Alli loves the combination of peanuts, caramel, nougat, and chocolate.
And we've got visitors! Grandpa and Grammy! They love Snickers too!
Next we're going to try Snickers with Hazelnut.
There's peanuts mixed in here too. I'm getting a Nutella vibe going on with this one. I associate hazelnuts with vacation, so I like this one.
Alli doesn't love it. She's putting this on the bottom of her list.
Snickers Almond.
No peanuts this time around. It's all Almonds. These are Aunt Rita's favorite. The Almond definitely gives it a different flavor compared to the peanuts. I suppose it's a personal preference which nut you like best.
When I saw Snickers Crunchy Peanut Butter I was thinking there's going to be a crunchy layer along with everything else.
But that Crunchy Peanut Butter means there's whole peanuts inside the peanut butter. This one was tasty!
Snickers White replaced the Milk Chocolate with White Chocolate. It was... not good. I don't like White Chocolate all that much and the rest of the ingredients didn't make up for it.
Lastly there's Snickers Peanut Brownie. Instead of the Nougat they've replaced it with Brownie. It's an interesting swap and I think it's a good one, adding even more chocolate flavor to the mix.
What are the favorites from everyone today? We've tried seven different Snickers bars so some surely stood out.
And if Alli has to rank all seven of them, here's how she would do it. Snickers Crunchy Peanut Butter, Original Snickers, Snickers Ice Cream Bars, Snickers Peanut Brownie, Snickers White, Snickers Almond, and Snickers Hazelnut.
Snickers Creamy Peanut Butter and Snickers Creamy Almond Butter. We can't leave those out! And we even waited until Grammy and Grandpa were visiting again so we could all do it together again. 
I was a little surprised when I bit into the Snickers Creamy Peanut Butter that I was still getting crunchy peanuts in this Snickers bar. Taking a closer look, it does appear to have a peanut butter layer, but they've now mixed chopped peanuts into the caramel layer on bottom. The Nougat has disappeared completely.
Because it's ice cream I think we should all start with the Snickers Ice Cream Bar first.

Theresa, Richard, Chi, Joe - Snickers Ice Cream Bars, it's the best by far! The other ones aren't even close.
Grandpa thinks they're all pretty good though, saying "It's pretty hard to mess up a Snickers."

Right before I was ready to go live with this, we found 2 new flavors of Snickers!
This Creamy Peanut Butter Snickers is even better than the original Snickers! Alli places it second on her list of favorites.
And the Almond Butter Snickers? Much better than the Snickers Almond from above.
Theresa says for her ranking, it's the Ice Cream Snickers, these two creamy butter Snickers, and all the rest are down at the bottom.
This time there's a Dark Chocolate Snickers! We're going to try a Snickers Almond Brownie Dark Chocolate bar.
I love the dark chocolate instead of the milk chocolate. The Brownie filling is good, but it's not my favorite.
Alli is passing out tastes to everyone. Ian's favorite before was the Peanut Brownie, and it's still his favorite. Not this Dark Chocolate version.
While we doing a little more shopping I finally found the last Snickers Ice Cream bar that I knew existed!
It's the Snickers Peanut Brownie Ice Cream Bar!
Instead of nougat, or the brownies that are in this normally, there's brownie flavored ice cream. I wish it would have been a more chocolatey ice cream versus the brownie flavored. The regular Snickers Ice Cream bar with the peanut butter ice cream is a lot better.
Ian thinks it's good, but still likes the Peanut Brownie Snickers best. Theresa likes all the Ice Cream bars better than the regular Snickers bars, with the Original Ice Cream bar being her favorite.
And then while I was finishing writing this one up, we found another new one!
Having ice cream automatically gives it a step up.
One thing I never really noticed when I had these bars individually was that they list the items inside each bar on the top of the wrapper. Who knew?
I can see why Alli was excited for this Snickers taste test! There were a lot of different variations of her favorite candy bar. Ian had such a "Wow, there's a Peanut Brownie Ice Cream bar, too?" when Theresa showed it to him. If I had to choose, the PB ice cream + caramel + peanuts + milk chocolate wins me over first :-) The Peanut Brownie candy would be the next one I'd want to try. That was a yummy taste test, Alli! EOM

ReplyDeleteWhat about the King Size snickers. I taste a totally different Taste between the original snickers and the king size nougat.
