Sour Patch Kids Candy Pop Popcorn taste test

If it says Sour Patch Kids on it, there's a good chance that we're going to be tasting it. The kids love them! So far we've had Sour Patch Kids Ice Pops, Ice Cream, Sour Patch Kids Cereal, Marshmallows, Yogurt, Sour Patch Kids Chips Ahoy Cookies, Sour Patch Kids Watermelon Ice Pops and Sour Patch Kids Freezer Pops. 

So when I saw that the people from Candy Pop were making Sour Patch Kids Popcorn, I knew we'd have to try it. And like usual, we'll be tasting it alongside the real thing and see how they compare. 

Pizza at Home - Caramelized Onion Pizza for Theresa

Happy Sunday! Let's make some pizza!

I've been making pizza for a long time now, and Theresa has been asking me for a caramelized onion pizza for a long time too. Let's do that tonight!

It's crazy how many onions it takes to get a decent amount. This is a small bag of onions, cooked for over an hour, constantly stirring, until they finally brown and taste so sweet! 

Since this pizza is for Theresa she gets to pick the rest of the toppings too. Mushrooms, prosciutto, and black olives. Not what I would have picked, but this one isn't for me. 

Utz Carolina Style BBQ Chips taste test

A few months ago when we visited the Utz Chip Factory in Pennsylvania, I discovered they have Carolina Style Barbeque flavored potato chips at their Outlet Store and I just had to buy a bag. Spending some time growing up in North Carolina, that vinegar based BBQ was something my family would go out to dinner and have, and even when we moved away, my father still made it at home. 

That's why I save this bag of chips so that when we finally visited home, we could all try these Carolina BBQ chips together!

A Colorado Visit for Thanksgiving!

We've been on the road for months now, living out of the RV, having family coming to visit us and going different places. Today it's time for us to pack up and leave warm and sunny Florida for the cold of Colorado!

The Flowers Explore - Orlando RV Resort - 2021/10/27-11/16

We're in Florida and it's finally time to settle in. After all these months on the road, Orlando will be our home until April when we start this whole thing again. And now that we're not moving around so often, we are spending a lot longer in one place. Three whole weeks at this resort!

No more map updates until next year. Our 28th stop and we are home. 

Happy Thanksgiving!

 This Thanksgiving we're visiting Colorado! It's awesome having so much family here.

Instead of the traditional turkey, Dad woke up at 2am and started smoking a prime rib. 

I was able to wake up a little bit later to get my homemade dinner rolls going.

Thanksgiving dinner was so delicious!

Remy's Hide and Squeak at Epcot 2021 - 2021/11/16

It's always fun when Disney has special scavenger hunt events. We've loved finding Easter Eggs and Valentines Cards back at Disneyland. When I saw that Epcot has a special Ratatouille scavenger hunt with Remy searching for ingredients around the World Showcase I knew we'd have to go give it a try.

Green Swamp - Van Fleet Trail - Bike riding in Florida

We're in Florida and one of our goals is to get a bunch of biking miles in. Theresa found a great spot in the Green Swamp. The Van Fleet Trail goes for about 20 miles and has barely any elevation change. Sounds perfect for a bike ride!

Earning our Wilderness Explorer Badges at Disney's Animal Kingdom 2021-11-09

Welcome to Disney's Animal Kingdom! We're so excited to be here in Florida now! We're new Walt Disney World Annual Passholders and one of the best parts of being a passholder is that it changes the whole dynamic of being at a park. If we were on vacation, things would be a lot more rushed and we'd be trying to cram it all in. But as a passholder we can slow down and enjoy things. 

At the Animal Kingdom, as part of the mission to learn more about animals, conservation, and protecting the Earth, the kids can become Wilderness Explorers! Let's go do that!

Walt Disney World - We're back!

Our travels since July have taken us to multiple states and lots of different stops, but Florida is where we call home. Why Florida? There's a few different reasons, but one that can't be downplayed is Walt Disney World! While we're here we're planning on going frequently!

We arrived in Orlando on Wednesday. Thursday, after dinner, Theresa asked me if I wanted to hit up Disney Springs. Definitely!

Welcome to Florida! We've only got a couple more months to get in our biking miles. We just got to Florida a couple days ago, but we've got to start our biking now! 

Grain Bin Commodities Cheddar Sausage Balls - Made at Home

Just a few weeks ago, we were traveling in the RV from Michigan to Florida. One of our overnight stops was in Sweetwater Tennessee at the Grain Bin Commodities Bakery. The morning we left, we bought a few tasty things to snack on in the truck for breakfast. 

One of those delicious treats was a Cheddar Sausage Ball that had just come out of the oven. It was Ian's favorite thing, and Alli's second favorite. I told Ian, "You know, we can make those at home too?"
Ian - Really? We should do that! 

We arrived in Florida and waited for the perfect time to make them. Today there's a little chill in the air and it has been raining all night. I think a nice warm breakfast like Cheddar Sausage Balls would be perfect! 

Pizza at Home - Vermont Cheddar thin crust pizza

Pizza day again! Today we're celebrating Vermont and the delicious cheddar they produce. They're home to the Cabot cheese factory!
And so today, I'm making a pizza that focuses on the cheddar. To keep it simple, and by special request from Rita, this week's pizza is going to be a thin crust pizza! The kids were happy to hear that since it's their favorite style crust.

Today we're making the move from Georgia to our new home state of Florida!

Only a 4 hour drive to get from Georgia to Three Flags RV Campground. This is our 27th stop of this trip!

The Flowers Explore - The Station 31072 Artisan Oils - 2021/10/23-24

Today we're traveling to Georgia on our way to Florida for the winter. Leaving Tennessee, it was too far to get all the way to Florida in one day, and so an overnight Harvest Host was perfect! 

Trying to find a place in Georgia, she came across The Station 31072. Here Oliver Farm sells their Artisan Oils and Flours. Sounds interesting. Let's go!

Our travels for this year are nearing an end. Hard to believe this is our 26th stop since July 7th! It's a 5:30 hour drive today. I hope we don't hit traffic like yesterday. 

Weigel's Orange Creamsicle Milk taste test comparison

We've been trying a few different flavored milks lately, but this is a unique one! Milk that has been flavored like a Creamsicle! 

And so, like we always do with these kinds of taste tests, we had to pick up a box of the original Orange Creamsicle bars! They are delicious! I hope the milk can live up to it!

The Flowers Explore - Grain Bin Commodities - 2021/10/22-23

As we make our way down to Florida, we're going to be driving some longer days and some quick stays. That's the perfect for staying at a place like a Harvest Host! Businesses that have space on their property let you park overnight for free and as a gesture of good will, you typically buy something from their store. 

While searching for places to stay, Theresa found a site called Grain Bin Commodities. Curious name. What is it? A place that stores and sells grain? 

No! It's a bakery! We get to stay at a farm and eat at a bakery!

I'm starting to get close to maxing out the number of different stops for a route on Mapquest (25). Google Maps will only let you have 10 different stops. Good thing we're getting close to our final destination.

Apple Cider Donut Oreos and a visit to Irons Fruit Farm

There's a new Oreo flavor for us to try today! I got a heads up about this one over the summer from a friend ahead of time, actually while we were at another apple orchard in Kansas! It took a while to find these Limited Edition Apple Cider Donut Oreos. Theresa looked around all over our area during our travels and eventually found them at a Target in North Carolina.
There's only one more thing left to do. Find some real Apple Cider Donuts to taste them against! 

There were a few Apple Orchards we stopped at ahead of this, but finally we decided on Irons Fruit Farm in Lebanon Ohio!

Wilmington RV - 2021/10/19-22

We've spent 12 fun days in Michigan hanging out with family, but it's starting to get cold and it's time for us to start migrating south. We picked up the RV from where it's been parked for the past few days and hit the road. 

We'll be taking a few days to finally get down to Florida.

As a special birthday present from their aunt and uncle, Alli and Ian got a big bag with 20 different candy bars in it! Let's have the Ultimate Chocolate Candy Bar taste test!

Theresa and I went through a list of all the classic candy bars and chose the most popular. Popularity was also determined by if we could find it easily at CVS, Meijer, and Walmart.

We're in Michigan! Ooh, but what is Michigan famous for food-wise? Cherries? I think I can make cherries work. 

Faygo Firework taste test comparison - Bomb Pop flavored soda

A soda that tastes like a Bomb Pop? Yes please!

Faygo released the Firework flavored pop this summer and it was an instant hit! I was trying to find it for our 20 Flavor Faygo Taste Test earlier this year, but couldn't. 

This soda is flavored with Cherry, Lime, and Blue Raspberry, just like the classic Bomb Pop. You know how we do things here. We're going to compare Faygo Firework to The Original Bomb Pop and see how close they really are!

Thank you Science! The kids have been waiting for this day for a long time!

The kids were super excited today! They've been waiting for a long time for this day. Covid shots for kids are now available! Ian's birthday is soon, but he said he's more excited for this. We're ready for things to start getting back to normal.

Celebrating Alli and Ian's combined birthday - 2021/10/10

It's time to celebrate! Alli and Ian have birthdays within a month of each other, so while they each get a small celebration on their actual birthday, we have a big combined celebration with the both of them. 

And since we're in Michigan, we get to have a big celebration with family! Aubrey always does a great job of putting together a lot of things for them for a big celebration!

Squamscot Old Fashioned Beverages Soda Taste Test Comparison - New Hampshire - 22 different flavors!

Here's a taste test the kids were really excited for. It's soda!
But not just any soda. This is Squamscot soda! For the past 5 generations, since the time of the American Civil War, 1863, the Connor family has been bottling sodas!

There's also a whole bunch of different flavors and we're going to try them all! A few weeks ago, I was able to find 20 different Faygo flavors. Today we'll be sampling 22 different Squamscot flavors!

A visit to Frankenmuth Michigan - 2021/10/11

We're in Michigan visiting Theresa's family, and as a special bonus my parents are here too! What shall we do, what shall we do? 

Let's go to Frankenmuth! There's a lot to do there!

Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cinnadust seasoning blend taste test

Today we got to try something new by the people who make Cinnamon Toast Crunch. It's Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cinnadust! 

Cinnamon Toast Crunch is produced by General Mills. This Cinnadust is produced under license by B&G Foods, who make other such spice blends as Mrs. Dash, Accent MSG, and dozens of other known brands. 

The ingredients list sugar, cinnamon, salt, and natural flavors. Their website states that it has notes of caramel, vanilla, and graham flavors. We'll see!

Michigan - 2021/10/07-19

Today we're traveling, but it's almost like we're going back home. We're going to Michigan!

We've enjoyed Kenisee Lake Campground, but now we're going to Michigan for 12 whole days!

The Flowers Explore - Kenisee Lake Ohio - 2021/10/05-07

Travel time! Niagara Falls has been a lot of fun, but today we're making a push to move west. Our ultimate goal will be to get to Michigan to spend a couple weeks, but that's too far for one day of driving. Instead we're going to make a stop in Ohio, and thank goodness for that! This state park has electric, but no water or sewer hookups. It'll be nice to get to a place where we can do laundry! Our destination is Kenisee Lake Ohio!

That's a lot of travel stops. 

Maid of the Mist - Niagara Falls, New York - 2021/10/04

During all of our walking around Niagara Falls, both kids wanted to do a little something extra. There were two different choices, either Maid of the Mist or Cave of the Winds. After discussing it between themselves, they chose to go on the boat ride. Awesome! I'm glad that's the one they picked.
