Pizza days are always good days! Today we're in Mississippi and I'm trying to theme my pizza on things that Mississippi is known for. For me, that's fried okra and fried chicken. Does fried food work on pizza? Let's find out!

The Flowers Travel to - Kansas and Colorado - 2022/04/25-28

Today we travel! I'm combining a couple travel days in this one because we're finally going to reach our destination where we'll be spending a few weeks! Colorado! Let's get moving!

Our first stretch is going to take us from the border of Texas and Oklahoma to the middle of Kansas.

It's another travel day today as we make our way up to Colorado to visit family on our way West. 

Today's travel day is only a 2:30. We can make it there without even stopping!

Today is a travel day for us. We've spent the last few days in Mississippi, but now it's time to head West again. 

Our drive today will take us through the upper part of Louisiana and then into Texas. It'll be about 6 hours of driving today, which is on the long side, but we'll manage. It's nearly all interstate driving, so I'll be able to set the cruise control and keep it between the lines. Easy enough.

Comparing Cadbury Mini Eggs and Hershey's Chocolate Eggs

Every Easter I have a conundrum. I LOVE the Cadbury Mini Eggs. But if I buy them, my willpower crumbles and I can eat so many of them so quickly. They're so good and infinitely superior to a similar candy coated plain M&M. 

While at the store Alli saw that Hershey's also makes candy coated chocolate eggs and thought it would be fun to do a taste test comparison. Well she asks and I deliver. Let's compare the two of them!

Sour Patch Kids Snack Pack Gelatin Taste Test Comparison

Taste tests and traveling are kind of our thing. If we're visiting family or friends, it's always fun to bring something along to try together. The kids recently got these Sour Patch Kids Snack Packs in their Easter basket and I thought that would be the perfect thing to try with everyone! 

We have tried just about every type of Sour Patch Kids treat you can think of, including Sour Patch Kids Ice Pops, Ice Cream, Sour Patch Kids Cereal, Marshmallows, Yogurt, Sour Patch Kids Chips Ahoy Cookies, Sour Patch Kids Watermelon Ice Pops, Sour Patch Kids Freezer Pops, and Sour Patch Kids Popcorn. 

My favorites have been the Sour Patch Kids Cereal (surprisingly delicious) and the Sour Patch Kids Ice Cream. 

Today we'll be giving these gelatin Snack Pack flavors a try. They've chosen to go with the two classic flavors Redberry and Blue Raspberry. The Tagline for these is "Sour, Sweet, Gone".

Visiting Family in Mississippi - Uncle Gary and Aunt Donna

One of the great things about being on the road is that we can go just about anywhere we want. It been a few years now since we were in Mississippi, but while we're here, we've got to go see my Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins. We hopped in the car and drove a few minutes up the road to see my Uncle and Aunt in the house that they've lived in forever.

Our first stop of our Westward trip was more of a repositioning. Today though we're headed to a destination! We're off to visit Gulf Shores Alabama!

Today's drive is taking us out of the Orlando area and to the upper part of the state. 

One last Disney week before we go - Animal Kingdom 2022/04/08

This is it! Our very last Disney visit in Florida before we hit the road. It's Friday, and we've been lucky this week to get reservations for Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and the Magic Kingdom. There's just one park left. Animal Kingdom! At 4:15pm we were parked and headed in. 

One last Disney week before we go - Magic Kingdom 2022/04/07

We've been really fortunate to get reservations to Disney during our final week in Orlando. Today I was able to get reservations for the Magic Kingdom! That'll be lots of fun! We pulled into the parking lot at 3:45pm, but why are we still sitting in the car? 

It's raining! And it's coming down hard! Maybe this will be a good thing and people will leave, resulting in shorter lines for everyone else. 

I wanted to get a good video of the rain to post on the blog. The view out my window wasn't much to look at, but Theresa's window was better. I rolled it down for an even better video. I hope you enjoy. 

One last Disney week before we go - Hollywood Studios and Epcot 2022/04/06

So it's our last week in Florida and we're getting in as much Disney as we can. On Monday and Tuesday, we spent time at Epcot and Hollywood Studios. Today is Wednesday and we've decided to visit Hollywood Studios one last time. 

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day! We sure are grateful for all the mothers in our lives. There's Theresa who is a fantastic mother to Ian and Alli. 

And we're visiting Colorado right now, so I get to spend Mother's Day with my mother too!

And we're fortunate that we get to visit Theresa's mother so often too. We're blessed.

One last Disney week before we go - Epcot and Hollywood Studios 2022/04/04-05

Wow. We've been in Florida for so long! It is just about time to leave, but we've got a week, just one week, to get the last of our Disney fix in before it's time to say goodbye. 

Since it's Spring Break at this time in Florida, I was actually having a difficult time making reservations. My pass can only hold 3 reservations at a time, and after using my two from last week, no free days were opening up for our final week. After searching and searching, finally an opening popped up for Monday! Whew! I was getting worried that our last week in Orlando wouldn't including any Disney in it! Then through constant checking, I was able to get something every single day of the week. Maybe not in the park we wanted to be in, but at least we can park hop after 2pm. Let's get going!

The first part of the week, we spent in Epcot. These Minnie Vans were lined up all nicely and in a row in the Epcot parking lot. They were even in numerical order! Of course our Minnie lover had to have a picture with them. The only thing that would have made them better is if they would have been pink.

What is the best cheddar cheese? We do a blind taste test with our favorites.

Hmm, sometimes we get to wondering. What is the best cheddar cheese that we can buy? We've been sampling a few different ones and we've figured out most of our favorites, but which one is the best? 

Today we have 3 different contenders. 

1. Tillamook Sharp Cheddar ($6 per lb). Ever since moving into an RV and driving along the East Coast, Tillamook has been difficult to find. It was our go-to cheese when we lived in California, but in Florida we've only been able to find it at random Sam's Club stores. 

2. Cave Aged Cheddar ($12.05 per lb). Made in England. Aged in Caves. Found at Aldi. 

3. Cabot Legacy Collection Alpine Cheddar Cheese ($7.05 per lb). Back in January, we tried 9 different Cabot Sharp Cheddars and this was our favorite. It's totally appropriate to have it as part of today's comparison.

We're entering the home stretch for our time in Orlando. Better get our Disney time in. Plus it'll help get our walking miles in. Off to the Magic Kingdom! 

Southern Hill Farms - All the Blueberry Treats Taste Test

Earlier we got to pick fresh strawberries and blueberries. But the folks at Southern Hill Farms also have a food truck with lots of tasty blueberry treats that they've already made up. And today we're going to try them all! Yep! Every single blueberry item that the Southern Hill Farms Bakery makes!

Pizza at Home - Kids make pizza themselves!

It's another pizza day! Today is a big day. Today it's time to see what the kids really can do in the kitchen because today, they are doing everything all by themselves! I'll move stuff in and out of the oven, but the rest is up to them! Let's see how they do!
