This week we are in Utah! When I looked up what kinds of dishes Utah was famous for, I kept seeing something called funeral potatoes. Funeral potatoes, also known as cheesy potatoes, are a staple for social gatherings for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. 

These warm cheesy potatoes with a crunchy topping are a tasty casserole and are simple to throw together. Can it work on a pizza? Let's try it out!

You might remember when I pulled into this location I was concerned about the trees at the end of each spot. Well instead of going forward to leave, I decided to put it in reverse and back it out. That worked much better!

Who likes Cheetos! We've got a special treat today! Not just regular Cheetos Puffs, but also Cheetos Poffs! 

These Cheetos Poffs came all the way from Mexico! 

We are fans of trying new Cheetos things! We've tried Cheetos Flamin Pepper Puffs, Cheetos Mac and Cheese, Cheetos flavored Lays Chips, Cheetos Popcorn, Cheetos Flamin Hot Popcorn, and Cheetos Snowflakes.

Welcome to America's first National Park! Yellowstone! Yesterday we got out late in the evening, but we still got to see the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, Mud Pits, Old Faithful at night, plus tons of animals! Today we're getting a much earlier start and seeing even more! Let's get started!

Today we are in the state of Idaho! For my pizza this week could there be any other ingredient than the Idaho potato? 

And I wasn't content to make just one pizza featuring potatoes. I wanted to try out two different pizzas and see what happened! And the potatoes of course have to come from the state of Idaho!

It's time for another National Park and it happens to be the nation's very first National Park! Yellowstone! It's even considered to be the very first national park in the world, gaining protection all the way back in 1872! Let's go explore! 

Idaho Spuds and Huckleberry Gems - A specialty Idaho confection!

While walking through a gift shop here in Idaho, I saw something I just had to try! Idaho Spuds! 

Idaho is of course famous for their potatoes. When I saw these candy confections I knew we'd have to give them a try! 

The Idaho Candy Company started all the way back in 1901 when T.O. Smiith, a journeyman candy maker, moved to Boise Idaho and began selling candy door to door. In 1909, he teamed up with another family and they built a candy factory, and it's the same factory they're making their candies in today!

Pizza at Home - Montana Meat Pasty Pizza

Welcome to Montana! We're in a new state and it's time to figure out a good pizza to represent Montana. In looking at all the different foods that Montana is popular for, one stood out. A meat pasty! Pasty in this case is pronounced PASS-tee. 

And so Theresa and I set off to make our weekly Sunday pizza and capture the Montana Pasty in it.

One of those very good friends is Ian's old school friend Lola! Knowing that we'd be around near Ian (and Alli's) birthday, she suggested a surprise birthday for them!

 Let's continue our time near Spokane Washington. 

Just yesterday we were at Tire-Rama to get our leaky tire inspected. They thought it was a leaky tire bead, cleaned it up, and sent us on our way. The next morning though, hopping in the car, my dash monitor was showing that that same tire was low again. Not flat, but hanging out around 50 psi. Hmm. We drove back into town to the same shop for them to take another look.

We're in Washington State and we have our friend Todd visiting! He previously brought us some Beecher cheese from Seattle to try and today he's brought more treats! Chocolates from 2 different Seattle based chocolatiers! 

We'll be tasting 7 Theo Chocolates. 

And 4 Intrigue Chocolates! 

Kids make BINGO at home!

Every once in a while the kids will disappear into their room with directions for us not to come in. Such was the case this time when they went into their room for over an hour. When they emerged, they were excited to share their homemade BINGO game! I'm excited to play! Let's see what you've done!

Making Piroshky Piroshky at Home!

Earlier this week we were in downtown Seattle exploring lots of their tasty treats! One of the places we tried was the Seattle staple Piroshky Piroshky with their sweet and savory Russian hand pies. 

We bought a few different flavors and weren't especially impressed with them, thinking that we could give it a try and make them better. Plus a piroshky there was $8 each! I wanted to see how it would be to make our own! Let's try it!

Tasting Washington's own Beecher handmade cheeses, their Flagship, Extra Aged Flagship, and Smoked Flagship cheeses

Today we've got a very special treat! Our friend Todd, who lives in Seattle, came over to visit us, and knowing how much we like to do taste tests, brought one of his own! 

Beecher's Handmade Cheeses opened in Pike Place Market in 2003 and was the only cheesemaker in Seattle! Since then, they've been crafting cheeses right in front of people in their glass windowed store and the cheeses they create have become award winning favorites!

Earlier in the week we were able to visit their store and have some of their delicious Mac & Cheese, but lacking an easy way to refrigerate it, we skipped on buying any chunks of cheese. Todd wanted to make sure we had the full experience and brought a sampling of 3 cheeses for us to try today. The Beecher's Flagship Cheese, Flagship Extra Aged, and Smoked Flagship. 

Alli loses her 4th Tooth on Halloween Night in Florida! 2022-10-31

I had to hurry up and write about Alli losing her 3rd tooth because she's already on to losing her 4th one! 

Alli's 4th loose tooth has been wiggly for a few weeks now. Ever since she lost that one in California. As we were nearing the end of October it was about time for it to come out! Ooh, Alli, what if it came out on Halloween night? 

The kids have had pretty good luck losing teeth on special days. Both Ian and Alli lost a tooth on August 22nd, National Tooth Fairy Day. Ian lost a tooth on Christmas Eve, which prompted a visit from both the Tooth Fairy and Santa Claus in the same night! Now Alli is losing one on Halloween! I wonder what surprises might be in store?

Alli loses her 3rd Tooth in California! 2022-10-07

I'm jumping around a little bit in my blog timeline, but I've got to get this one posted so I can post another one! 

In early October we were in California visiting friends and going to Disneyland! We're staying in a hotel room instead of driving the RV back out. While we were there, Alli's top two teeth are getting super loose! 

We try Dr Pepper Dark Berry and try to make our own! Taste test and comparison!

If you ask me my favorite soft drink, my answer has to be Dr Pepper. It's the best! But when Dr Pepper releases a new flavor, you know that we're going to have to try it!

Dr Pepper Dark Berry. I always like to compare whatever we're tasting with something we make ourselves. In this case, what can I use for a Dark Berry flavor? How about blackberries? The darkest berry of them all!
