Happy Fourth of July Weekend!

Happy Fourth of July weekend! My brother and SIL's community had bike parade, free hot dog cookout, and more!

We walked a few blocks to a wide field.

Free flags to wave! And attached to them was a list of all the local fireworks displays that are happening on the 4th! Love it!

They spent the day before decorating their bikes and scooter.

All dressed up for the parade!

And Pat, Megan, Gram, Pop Pop, and Theresa were on the sides cheering for us.

Still able to pull off riding the unicycle! Even though it's been years! I saw it in my parent's basement the night before and decided to pull it out and give it a try!

The entire bike parade start.

Great job Alli!
Alli - I was stuck in gear 8! (because of all the tape holding on the decorations) It was so hard!

Who is that girl who is so good on that scooter?

The neighborhood provided free hot dogs, chips, and water. The grillmasters said they cooked 350+ hot dogs! There were a whole lot left over for people to get thirds and fourths!

And I saw over 500 bags of chips!

Meeting the neighbors and their animals

And free tattoo stickers!

Love it!

An ice cream man was there too. Someone gave him $100 and said to give out ice cream to the kids. When they heard they took off running! Ours were too late to get any though. I guess $100 doesn't go too far when bomb pops are $4!

It was a beautiful summer day to be outside. You might even say Oh Beautiful for spacious skies and purple mountains majesty.

When we got back to the house, Bomb Pops!

Happy Fourth of July!

  1. Wow...what a community celebration!...love how the people of the community come out and celebrate July 4th together...free food and a parade (lots of participants!...sideline cheerleaders were spirited and encouraging...wonderful!), along with beautiful weather to get everyone in a festive mood. Not too bad to be able to use the unicycle after all this time! Everyone's dress-up and bike/scooter decorations were great...love the enthusiasm. Great to see the flags being waved in honor of this nation's birth! EOM
