Saturday Morning Cereals - Gingerbread Toast Crunch

Cinnamon Toast Crunch has a brand new flavor out for the Holidays! Along with the Sugar Cookie Toast Crunch, that we tried a while ago, this winter they've also released Gingerbread Toast Crunch.

I love seeing a new flavor from Cinnamon Toast Crunch! Every time I see a new flavor of Cinnamon Toast Crunch I try it along with whatever it's supposed to be emulating! And I've made a whole bunch of different ones!

I've done the original Cinnamon Toast Crunch and a loaf of homemade bread for homemade cinnamon toast. French Toast Crunch with homemade bread for homemade french toast. Chocolate Toast Crunch and a loaf of homemade Chocolate Bread. Cinnamon Toast Crunch Churros and making homemade churros! And of course when Cinnamon Toast Crunch Chocolate Churros came out, I had to make those too. For Sugar Cookie Toast Crunch, the kids and I made sugar cookies. Apple Pie Toast Crunch and my sister-in-law Megan's homemade apple pie. Cinna-Graham Toast Crunch where I made homemade Graham Crackers for the first time! Cinnamon Roll Toast Crunch with homemade cinnamon rolls. Even CinnaFuego Cinnamon Toast Crunch that we tried with Freckle Bread!

It's not just the cereal either! We try Cinnamon Toast Crunch in lots of other ways! Cinnamon Toast Crunch Ice Cream, Cinnamon Toast Crunch Treat Bars, Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cinnadust seasoning, Cinnamon Toast Crunch Pizza, Cinnamon Toast Crunch Oatmeal, Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cookies, CTC Pancakes, Cinnadust Cake Mix and Frosting, Cinnadust Coffee Cake Mix, and Cinnamon Toast Crunch Creamy Spread

Cinnamon Toast Crunch might be the post popular cereal on this blog!

I put out a request for who wanted to help me make gingerbread in the kitchen and Alli was quick to come running to help.

And if we're making gingerbread, there's one recipe that I love making, especially for people who haven't had it before. The Salted Caramel Buttercream Gingerbread Cookie from Epcot's Karamell-Küche! I wrote up the recipe on Micechat

First is the batter for the gingerbread cookies themselves.

With the gingerbread cookie dough completed, it goes into the fridge for everything to chill before baking.

Next up is the salted caramel. Just put sugar into a pan and bring it up in temperature slowly.

It'll start to turn brown and caramelize. Then with the butter and heavy cream it'll turn into a delicious caramel!

Next is the buttercream filling!

We'll add butter, powdered sugar, and a bit of the caramel we just made!

Love making cookies with my little girl. I remember making cookies with my mom what I'd guess was 35 years ago. I think this might even be the same mixer we used.

These have had a little time in the fridge and are ready to bake!

They're looking delicious!

Alli helped with spreading buttercream and then squeezing our caramel on top of it.

Those look amazing!

With the leftover dough, the kids really wanted to make cutout gingerbread cookies! With no gingerbreadman cookie cutters, I gave them both a knife and let them go for it.

That is an excellent job Alli!

Go for it Ian!

The three of us had fun making all sorts of cookies.

A look at the box with the Cinnamojis enjoying the snow.

And I absolutely made my own little crew of Cinnamojis and a gingerbread house for them.

Chocolate chip eyes and everything.

Looking at the kids cookies.

Ian's gingerbread man, some hearts, a candy cane, a random smile, and even a crown.

A few gingerbread people, ornaments, a cup of hot cocoa, a snowman, stocking, and a random M.

Okay, so we've spent a whole lot of time making our own Gingerbread cookies, but what about the Gingerbread Toast Crunch cereal?

Giving the bowl a whiff, it has a strong smell of Graham Crackers. Interesting.
Tasting it, it very much reminds me, Theresa, and Jacob of Golden Grahams. That's interesting because Graham Crackers don't use molasses or ginger. Gingerbread cookies very much do. Looking at the ingredient list neither ginger or molasses show up, but they could be included in the "natural flavors" portion I suppose.

Adding milk to the bowl, the cereal has a little bit more gingerbread taste. More like an aftertaste.

But even though it doesn't taste strongly of Gingerbread, is it still a good cereal?

Theresa - This is the best Cinnamon Toast Crunch variant we've had so far.
Alli - I like it better than regular Cinnamon Toast Crunch!
Joe - I still like regular Cinnamon Toast Crunch better, but this is very good.

So there you have it! One more Cinnamon Toast Crunch flavor and a fun time had by all who participated.

Such a cute group of Cinnamojis with their own "specially--decorated" gingerbread house...those "Santa hats" are awfully cute on them, too :-)...nice job. Ian and Alli got to do what they always enjoy...get creative!!...in this case, make cookie shapes wherever their whimsy took them...good "hands on" creations, Alli & Ian! EOM
