Celebrating my birthday in Canada!

Jumping ahead just a little bit in our summer travels to July. We're in Buffalo New York to see Niagara Falls! And it's my birthday! To celebrate, we're headed over to the Canadian side! I'll have a more detailed write-up later, but wanted to get this one out.

When I woke up, the kids had birthday cards waiting for me.

Then it was time for an adventure! Off to Niagara Falls! We’ve seen it from the American side before, but the kids haven’t been to the Canadian side! We walked across the Rainbow Bridge and had a great view!

It's the kids' first time visiting Canada! It was much easier to get into than last time we were here, during Covid.

Theresa found a great cake shop in Canada. We all got something different and tried everyone’s! The tiramisu was a favorite of everyone, but no one was disappointed with anything.

Next, we walked towards Niagara Gorge and got a great view of the American Falls and Bridal Veil Falls!

Bringing a blanket was a must!

A big part of our enjoyment of the falls is hanging out on a blanket and relaxing. We just hung out for an hour while people busily walked past.

Time to see Horseshoe Falls!

The rainbow, and even the double rainbow, was beautiful!

For dinner, we were looking for something unique. We found a pizza place that offered Butter Chicken pizza and I thought we'd have an amazing indian style pizza mixup. Instead it was just chicken on top of marinara sauce and cheese. Tasty to be sure, but was just a chicken pizza with no special flavors.

We had one spot picked out on the grass for the nightly fireworks, but the police came and shuffled everyone out of the area. We got another spot right against the rope. It was a great view with no one in front of us!

Love the vibrant colors they project onto the falls.

After the fireworks, we waited while the big crowds left.

Whew! Lots of walking today! Over 11 miles for the day! Alli has over 20k steps!

It was after midnight when we headed back to the USA. Gotta make sure we pay the $1 toll to get back in.

Halfway in Canada and halfway in the USA, but had a 100% fantastic birthday!
