Gram's Tea Party - featuring Lady Avery, Lady Allison, and Sir Ian

While visiting Colorado, Gram wanted to do something really special with the kids. A tea party!

So much goes into hosting a memorable tea party. There's lots of things to organize and get ready.

Trying on their tea party outfits the day before and being introduced.

That morning Gram (and Pop Pop) were hard at work in the kitchen getting everything prepared.

So many different items that go into each dish.

With pleasant music playing in the background, each of the tea party guests was welcomed to the table.

So pretty.

What a lovely spread!

Different cheeses, meats, and crackers.

Pimento cheese sandwiches, ham, and veggies.

So colorful! Orange scones with strawberries and clotted cream. Technically, you can't buy clotted cream in the USA since it's made from unpasteurized milk. So Pop Pop found a recipe and made it himself, just so they could have it for their tea party.

Mini quiches and toasted ravioli! What a treat!

Everyone looks so fancy. They had to get pictures before sitting down.

Taking their seats.

The servants must have been on holiday, so Gram took over and made everyone's plate.

How delightful.
Ian - It was really good food!

Ian's favorite was the fried raviolis. Alli really enjoyed the mini quiche.

They enjoyed chatting and giving each other compliments.

Everyone used their best manners at the table. No one slurped their tea.

And with any tea party, you need to sit and talk while drinking tea.

Pinky up.

Alli remembers that they laughed a lot. Ian would take a tiny nibble of his food then exaggeratedly lick his lips. That would start Alli laughing, which would make Ian laugh, then Avery laugh.

Thank you Gram!

  1. ABSOLUTELY LOVELY and FUN!!!...What a wonderful tea party by Gram (and Pop Pop's great help in the kitchen!). The fancy attire worn by the distinguished 3 guests and their impeccable manners made for a delightful time enjoying the food (that was so artfully displayed...what a spread!) and delicate tea (lovely, dainty tea cups). That was a cute video interviewing the guests and hearing their responses! Such a great idea and well-executed by Gram and Pop Pop. EOM
