Trying all 10 flavors of Frooties Tootsie Roll Candies Taste Test

Today we're going to try all 10 flavors of Toostie Roll Frooties chewy candies! 

Please don't confuse these with Tootsie Roll Fruit Chews, it's something totally different. The kids actually did a Tootsie Roll Fruit Chews taste test back in 2020 when they found all the flavors in their Halloween candy bags. The flavors for that were Cherry, Orange, Lemon, Lime, Vanilla, and Chocolate. 

But Tootsie Rolls Frooties are something completely different! 

The ten flavors that are currently produced are: Grape, Blue Raspberry, Green Apple, Lemon Lime, Mango, Strawberry Lemonade, Watermelon, Sour Cherry, Fruit Punch, and Strawberry (sorted by where they'd best fit in on a rainbow scale). 

Finding all 10 flavors was a challenge. Many were found in the "loose" candy bin. One shop had them for as cheap as 2 for 5 cents, while at others they were $15 a pound! The Blue Raspberry Frooties can be found at Chuck E. Cheese at the prize redemption counter for 15 tickets.  

And we have company visiting us! Donald, Amy, Austin, and Gracie are visiting from Michigan! We love doing taste tests with people! 

All these colorful wrappers, we can taste the rainbow! Let's start at the purple end and go from there. 

Alli - Let's taste the rainbow! I think my favorite is going to be Strawberry Lemonade. 

We'll see!

Theresa - The greatest thing is, each Tootsie Roll only has 11 calories!

First up, Grape! 

Alli - Grape is really good!

Theresa - Tootsie Roll is basically taffy, right? Chocolate taffy. So this is fruity taffy. 

Amy - I love taffy. 

Theresa - That is a grape taffy. 

Jacob - It's grape. I don't love grape. 

Ian - I don't either. It reminds me of medicine. 

Theresa - I must have had more cherry medicine than grape. 

Donald - So much better than the grape Sour Patch Kids we ate. Remember how weak those were? 

Alli - Yummy to my tummy!

Ian - I love Blue Raspberry. 

Gracie - Me too. Blue Raspberry is my favorite one. 

Ian - Way better than grape! 

Alli - No! Grape is better than Blue Raspberry!

Theresa - That's a Blue Raspberry. 

Austin - I like how they melt in your mouth. 

Theresa - It does kinda taste like Icee.

Donald - It's a really good flavor. 

Theresa - I love all things made my Tootsie Roll. Remember those big mix bags with Dots, Fruit Chews, and Tootsie Rolls. Mmmm. 

Joe - Ian, you should love this one. Green Apple. 

Ian - Better than Blue Razz. Those are so good! 

Gracie - I love Green Apple. That's not good that Skittles took Green Apple away and made it Lime. 

Ian - It was the best Skittle ever!

Theresa - That actually had pretty good flavor. I don't love it being Green Apple, but it's not bad.

Austin - I don't like it. 

Amy - That tastes a little waxier. 

Donald - Those are very good flavors so far. 

Alli - That tastes like Sprite!

Gracie - Lemon Lime, I like that! 

Ian - Tastes like cleaner!

Theresa - When are you tasting cleaner!?!

Amy - I like it.

Joe - It's good. 

Donald - I like them all. 

Amy - It's a little zingy after.

Jacob - It's like flat Sprite. 

Donald - That might be my least favorite, but it's still good. 

Donald - I'm excited for this one. 

Joe - Not orange huh. They chose Mango instead. 

Austin - I love Mango. 

Alli - Oh my goodness! I love it!

Ian - That's good. 

Austin - I love that one. 

Joe - So far there haven't been any "punchy" flavors. They're all mild. 

Austin - Relaxed.

I'm in charge of portioning all the different candies. I'm also working on a creation of my own for the end. 

Strawberry Lemonade is next. 

Theresa - Oooh. 

Donald - We've had a very good experience with Strawberry Lemonade Sour Patch Kids. 

Amy - It's making my teeth hurt from all the sugar. 

Joe - You need to have more sugar! 

Joe - I love Strawberry. And Lemonade.

Ian - That's better than Green Apple! 

Amy - That's good! The first flavor I got was Strawberry Starburst. Then the lemon came in. 

Donald - Oh wow! 

Austin - That's so amazing. 

Theresa - Oh that's yummy! 

Donald - It's right behind Grape for me. 

Gracie - You liked Grape? That's my least favorite. 

So many flavors! 

Watermelon is next. I was kinda hoping it would be dotted with little black specs. 

Ian - It's not as good as Strawberry Lemonade. 

Gracie - That's good!

Alli - It tastes like a Watermelon Starburst. 

Theresa - It does remind me of that Alli. I agree. 

Joe - It reminds me also of Watermelon Sour Patch. 

Theresa - So far, if I wanted a little sweet something, I would eat all of these. 

Alli - Sour Cherry is the best one! By far!

Ian - That's better than Strawberry Lemonade!

Austin - That's amazing. 

Ian - That tastes like a Tootsie Pop Cherry. 

Austin - Yes it does Ian. 

Theresa - That's good!

Donald - So good!

Amy - That's tastes like a Cherry Starburst to me. 

Donald - They really should push this. Put some cartoons on the label or something. 

Theresa - We tried to do a factory tour when we were in Chicago, but they don't offer them. They just have a Factory Outlet store. 

Donald - I did not know Tootsie Roll had such good products. They need to do better marketing. 

Joe - The one I'm looking forward to least. I don't like Fruit Punch flavor. 

Alli - Yeah, no. 

Ian - That's just like eating the fruit punch powder. 

Amy - It reminds me of Kool-Aid. 

Joe - It tastes like Fruit Punch, but I don't like it. 

Austin - I could eat a lot of those. 

Donald - I don't love it. 

Austin - I'd rather have a pocket full of those than Grape for sure. 

Donald - No! That's a bad choice. 

Last one. Strawberry.

Joe - That's an interesting color for Strawberry.  

Theresa - Oh! Yay! I thought it was going to be Raspberry. That makes me really happy. 

Ian - It's horrible. 

Alli - No. 

Joe - You don't like it? The Strawberry Lemonade was good. 

Austin - I love it. That's my second favorite. 

Amy - That's nice. 

Gracie - That's good. 

Joe - It's definitely different than Starburst Strawberry. But it's a good different. 

Amy - I would eat a bag of those. I like that one. 

That's a lot of candy wrappers left over. 

With 10 different Frooties flavors, what were everyone's favorites? Anyone need to retry anything? 

Ian - Favorite Sour Cherry, Second favorite Strawberry Lemonade. Last is Grape. 

Alli - Favorite Sour Cherry, Second favorite Strawberry Lemonade. Least favorite Strawberry.  

Gracie - Favorite Sour Cherry, Second favorite Blue Raspberry. Least favorite is Fruit Punch. 

Austin - Favorite Sour Cherry, Second favorite Strawberry. Least Green Apple. 

Amy - First Strawberry, Second Strawberry Lemonade. Least is Fruit Punch. 

Theresa - First Strawberry Lemonade. Second Grape. Least is Blue Raspberry. 

Joe - First Strawberry Lemonade. Second Lemon-Lime. Least Fruit Punch. 

Joe - Donald, you've tried a few extras I see. What have you figured out? 

Donald - I've tried a lot extra. Everything has been changing on me. My favorite has swayed to Strawberry Lemonade. Second is Grape. Least favorite is Fruit Punch. 

Jacob - Top was Strawberry Lemonade followed by Sour Cherry. Least favorite was Grape. 

I saved a little bit of everything while I cutting the pieces to make a giant Rainbow of flavor. 

And I was able to cut slices for everyone to take a taste! 

Amy - Oh, you're making like little Sour Patch Straws. 

Austin - That's great Uncle Joe. 

Donald - Joe is so awesome. Joe is such a great sharer. 

Ian - Sometimes. 

Alli - He's just joking...

Austin - Mmm. Whoa! That tastes like those sugar tubes that you get!

Amy - An explosion of all the different flavors!

Donald - Joe, did you cut up enough? Did you get one? 

Joe - No, there weren't enough. I SHARED MINE WITH EVERYONE IAN! I'M A GREAT SHARER!

From there, we went into a discussion about Tootsie Rolls in general. How the Tootsie Roll Midgees and Logs, were so much better than the tiny Tootsie Rolls, or the long ones. The bigger ones are softer than the smaller ones. 

Donald - I feel like Tootsie Roll should market these a little better. These are really good. They have a really good recipe going on.
