Random Halloween Pictures

As we get closer to Halloween, we've found ourselves doing more and more Halloween events! Here's a look at everything we've had going on!

The kids school is doing a Trunk or Treat over a week before Halloween with candy, games, dancing, and food. We were there too, with a few decorations on the back of Beast and a whole bunch of candy to hand out.

While the kids ran around with their friends, Theresa and I made sure no one left our stop without lots of candy.

And we were lucky enough to have a special midweek surprise! Amy and Donald are visiting from Michigan! First they stopped by the kids gymnastics to see how they're progressing.

Crazy to think that they've only been doing this for a year now. Alli is already in the Advanced classes and was asked to be on the gym team that competes (no good for us since we're gone too often). Ian switched midway through from Ninja Kids to Tumbling and is loving it!

After a tasty meal of 4 Rivers BBQ, we headed to the town of Winter Park to stretch our legs. I love the decorations they always have up here. And there's even some Halloween theming going on!

Can't walk down a straight path without doing cartwheels.

At the end was a giant 15' tall scarecrow who would light up and talk to us.

And I love that there's swings here to relax on too.

Everyone jump on!

Nice job selling that you're swinging Alli. That's a fun mural.

Near City Hall was a straw maze with Halloween decorations that would come to life as you walked by.

Not scary, but fun.

And Amy thought the skeleton flamingos were adorable.

Some perfect backgrounds for a good family picture!

Happy Halloween!

It's starting to get late though. So bedtime...?

No! Coffee!
We took them to our favorite coffee shop and were lucky enough to have our favorite barista working tonight too.

Pretty, isn't it.

Alright, we get it. Time to go home.

We're not done yet though. There's more trunk or treating to do, this time at our campground!
On Saturday at 4pm, 5 days before Halloween, a bunch of cars will be at the rec center, giving out candy! The kids hopped into their second costumes of the season and, knowing how hot they would be in them, we drove over.

Right at 4pm, when the newsletter said the event started, we started hitting up the trunks. Some were even giving full sized candy bars! Thanks The Daily Brick!

Others had games to play.

Make it onto multiple hats and win more candy!

Then, the activities director for the campground asked that everyone instead go line up at the end of the parking lot. And then, we waited. And waited. Finally, 20 minutes after the start of the event, all the kids were released. Not sure what was going on there.

But we were thankful for the turnout.

Ooh. Pirates!

Jasmine and the Magic Carpet. Very nice.

Ha! Cousin Eddie.

And a treat from the campground activities director too. Thanks for organizing! Between this and the other trunk or treat at their school, we're already loaded with candy!

But we're not quite finished yet... Every year on Halloween, we like to do something special too. We'll be headed to the Disney's Magic Kingdom and giving out treat bags to all the cast members we see! As much as we like Disney magic, those treat bags don't just magically appear. We have to stuff them!

So, with an assembly line going, and a whole bunch of candy, we got to work!

And that's not even the half of it. We've got hundreds of bags filled with cookies, an Airhead, Snickers, and Gummy Bears! It's going to be a fun day making a lot of people smile on Halloween!

  1. The campground activities are always bustling during the Halloween season...hats off to the activities' chairperson for organizing it...Trunk or Treat is always a hit! What cute Pikachu costumes for Alli & Ian...so perfect for them, reflecting what they like a lot. Nice surprise to have Amy & Don visit during this time...great time in the town...liked how the lit trees created a welcoming sight...the family-friendly Halloween-themed area with the straw maze, decor, and photo ops is such a great gathering place for the community (have never seen a "skeleton flamingo" before...how unique!) What an honor that Alli was asked to be on the competing gym team...she's come a long ways in such a short time! All those special treat bags (wow...so much variety in them, too) will bring lots of smile to the CMs at the MK...lots of hard work and love go into making them...what a blessing to everyone (givers and receivers).
