Pringles Mingles - A New Offering from Pringles - Taste Test

Something new from Pringles? How can they do something new?

Usually it's just new Potato Crisp flavors from Pringles, but today I found something that is all together different than their usual chips.

Pringles Mingles!

Pringles Mingles are a puffed corn snack, versus a potato, and it's seasoned with two different flavors!
The colors are throwing me off a little bit.

That green bag I was completely expecting to be their regular Sour Cream and Onion flavor. Imagine my surprise when it was Dill Pickle & Ranch instead. Hmm.
In the blue bag there is Sharp White Cheddar & Ranch. The orange bag holds Cheddar & Sour Cream. Pink/Purple has BBQ & Pizza.

The back of the bags, just in case anyone is curious.

All four flavors, ready to try.

Dill Pickle & Ranch, Cheddar & Sour Cream, Sharp White Cheddar & Ranch, BBQ & Pizza.

It looks like these Pringles Mingles are still going for that saddle-shape that Pringles Potato Crisps are known for.

Well, I caught someone already sneaking a taste of one of them before we got started, so I better stop taking pictures and let everyone start tasting.

What order should we go in? Jacob suggested suspected least favorite to most favorite. That works for me. That means that to lead us off will be Dill Pickle & Ranch!
Dill Pickle and Ranch is a flavor combination I guess I can see. I don't usually like pickle. Are they usually dipped in ranch?

Two flavors, one bowtie.
Oh, is that what it's supposed? Mr. Pringles bowtie?

The puffs themselves are lightly dusted with flavoring.

Jacob - I can smell the pickle.
Alli - That's really good.
Joe - It's a little more dense than a Cheeto.
Jacob - Seems like it.
Alli - I like it!
Theresa - I do too.
Jacob - I don't think I'm a fan.

Alli - It's like Tzatziki!
Joe - I don't think it's going to by my favorite. But they got Dill Pickle right.
Theresa - They're only like 3 calories each!

Jacob - I don't think I'm getting enough ranch. That's why I'm not liking it.
Ian - This tastes like that popcorn seasoning ranch powder on top of a puff.

For our next Pringles Mingles, we are trying BBQ & Pizza.
Now that's an odd combination. I get BBQ. I get Pizza. But putting them together? In a chip? That seems a little odd to me. Why mingle those flavors?

A deliciously craveable new snack from Pringles. Guess we'll see, won't we.

These definitely have more seasoning on them compared to the Dill Pickle & Ranch ones.

Theresa - Oh! Eww!
Jacob - Oh! Oh!
Joe - That is very...
Theresa - AWFUL!
Joe - I was going to say mesquite.
Theresa - And then it has pizza on the back end.
Ian - That is bad!
Alli - Yuck!

Theresa - Where's my drink?

Lots of people stopped at this point to go rinse their mouths out.

Joe - So much mesquite.
Ian - And I thought the first one was bad.
Theresa - That was nasty!
Joe - I'm not tasting pizza so much. It's just a really strong smoky mesquite.
Theresa - It's that, but it's something else at the end. It's not good. Bleh!
Alli - That's one of the most terrible things I've put in my mouth.
Ian - Won't ever do that again.
Theresa - Yuck.
Jacob - After having that BBQ & Pizza, the Dill Pickle & Ranch was delicious!
(going back and tasting it again)
Jacob - I taste more ranch on it now. The other one offended my senses so much I can taste it now.
Theresa - It was an offense!

Well. Wow. That last one wasn't a hit. Hopefully this one will be better.
Sharp White Cheddar & Ranch.
Again, why mix ranch with cheese? Seems like an odd combination to mingle together, but let's see.

These look even more "ranchy" than the Dill Pickle & Ranch puffs.

Theresa - Ooh! Looking forward to this one!
Alli - It's good.
Joe - Trying to get a cheese flavor, but I'm just not tasting it.
Ian - Nope.
Theresa - It tastes like Ranch still. Like a light ranch.
Ian - Not great.
Jacob - Ranch with a hint of cheddar.
Joe - Maybe if they made it orange it would taste more like cheese.
Theresa - I think the Dill Pickle & Ranch tasted more like Ranch than these.
Joe - I was hoping to love that more.
Ian - Agreed.
Theresa - Though it's not bad.

Okay, this one I'm expecting big things from. We all know, KNOW, that the best Ruffles are the Cheddar and Sour Cream ones. You can easily eat a whole bag if you're not careful. As long as Pringles was aiming for something like that, these could be delicious!

Yes, I see there's sour cream and cheddar, all going into one Mingle.

And the puffs have the correct color for me to think of that delicious Ruffles chip. Let's taste them.

The kids going in for a piece.

Jacob trying not to give away his assessment before everyone has been able to try it...
Joe - Cheddar and Sour Cream Ruffles are the best chip. Can these taste like it?
Kids together - NOPE! BLEH!!!
Jacob - That is not good.
Alli - Move! Going to the trash can!
Theresa - OH! NO!

Ian - Water? Water?
Joe - Wow. Who wanted to save the best for last?
Alli - We should throw those away. I know my order! At last I know that one. It's going in LAST!
Theresa - Wow.
Joe - How is that so bad?
Together - I don't know!
Jacob - That is bad and fake.
Joe - But why is it bad? It's cheddar and sour cream.
Alli - It wasn't bad. It was TERRIBLE!
Joe - But they have a good model of what it should taste like.
Jacob - After I tasted it, I made a face, but tried to cover it. Not fast enough. Glad I wasn't the only one.
Joe - We have had so many people spitting out chips tonight. More than any other taste test.

Any go-backs?
Jacob - Trying the BBQ and Pizza it's not as bad as the first time, but there is still that smokiness.
Theresa - I'm having a hard time deciding. I wished I could spit out BBQ but there were people in the way. And Cheddar and Sour Cream I spat out, so I'm not sure which one was worse. It's a tie for worst.
Jacob - Cheddar and Sour Cream was BY FAR the worst.
Joe - The texture on these. More dense than Cheetos. Almost to the point of tasting stale, even though we just opened these.
Theresa - I'm okay with the texture.
Jacob - I like that it doesn't turn your fingers a different color.

Time to rank them.
Ian - First place is Dill Pickle & Ranch, Second Sharp White Cheddar & Ranch, Third BBQ & Pizza, Last Cheddar and Sour Cream. Note that I would never eat another one of any these again. Especially that final one because that was just horrible.
Jacob - I'm not a dill pickle fan, so first is Sharp White Cheddar & Ranch, then Dill Pickle, BBQ/Pizza, and a distant fourth is Cheddar & Sour Cream.
Joe - Even though I don't love dill pickle, it's still my number 1. And then Sharp White Cheddar & Ranch didn't have as much cheese flavor as I wanted, but if they think Cheddar & Sour Cream is cheese flavor, maybe we don't want them to do cheese flavor. Third was BBQ & Pizza. Cheddar & Sour Cream was THE WORST. I don't know that I've had a chip that bad.

Alli - Dill Pickle & Ranch, Sharp White Cheddar & Ranch, BBQ & Pizza, and last is Cheddar & Sour Cream. I wouldn't eat the last two again.
Theresa - (after trying them again and spitting many out again) Whew! Blugh. I have my rankings. I liked the Dill Pickle & Ranch. I would eat that. Alli and I would eat a bag of them. Sharp White Cheddar & Ranch, if I was hungry and someone opened a bag, I would eat them. I would never pick them to buy them. BBQ & Pizza is offensive. Just, very bad. Cheddar & Sour Cream is repulsive. It tastes like the sour cream went bad... and stale at the same time.
Jacob - Like spoiled sour cream.
Theresa - Maybe this is an off batch, because it tastes that bad. How could they make something that bad and put it into a bag to sell.
Jacob - I would not buy any of these myself. Should we contact the company and ask for money back, because these were really bad. All five of us hated them.

Alli, what's that you're doing?
Are you going to mingle all of those flavors together into one bite?

Wow! Alli!
Joe - What's the dominant flavor?
Alli - BBQ!
Joe - I believe that.

Joe - Well... Thank you? For participating in this interesting Pringles Mingles taste test.
Jacob - I'm thankful it's done.
