Snack Factory Pretzel Crisps - All 8 flavors - taste test comparison

It's time for another pretzel taste test! We're doing this one with Nicole and Alfredo specifically because we do so many "sweet" taste tests and Nicole thinks we should do more savory ones.

So today we're trying one of Theresa's favorite pretzels to snack on, the Snack Factory Pretzel Crisps. We have all 8 flavors available, not counting the chocolate covered ones or the Pop'ums which are a different thing all-together.
The 8 flavors we'll be tasting today are: Honey Mustard & Onion, Garlic Parmesan, Buffalo Wing, Original, Cheddar Cheese, Sea Salt & Cracked Pepper, Everything, and Cinnamon Sugar.

And does it bother me that every single flavor was available in regular size except the Cheddar Cheese, thus throwing off the height of everything? No, of course not.
I hope you're hungry for Pretzels!
Let's get started!

Starting on the far end, we have Honey Mustard & Onion Pretzel Crisps. The bag encourages us to "Rethink Your Pretzel". We can see the bag displays a pretzel with some kind of dip on it, along with a crispy onion and garnish.

Joe - So it's Honey Mustard and... onion? Huh...
Nicole - I made that exact same noise when I saw it. Huh. Onion and Honey Mustard.
Joe - It doesn't look super coated with powder.
Jacob - But it smells like it!
Theresa - Yum! I'd eat that.
Jacob - I like it.
Ian - It's tasty.
Theresa - It's a very light honey mustard.
Jacob - I would never have thought about onion.
Joe - I'm trying to get some flavor out of it.
Alfredo - It's very mild. Very mild.
Nicole - I would eat it, but I'm not overwhelmed. I'm just whelmed.
Theresa - It's not like Snyder's ones that were caked on. These are mild.
Joe - Yes, and the Pop Daddy Mustard Pretzels were "slap you in the face mustard".
Alfredo - That onion flavor is coming in late.

Joe - How do you like the texture of these pretzels though?
Theresa - I love them. They're my favorite pretzel texture.
Joe - I like the Dot's better. These are more... They're not as hard crunchy.

Looking at the packaging a little closer, these claim to be Deli Style Thin Crunchy Pretzel Crackers. Crackers! Yes, more like a Saltine but made from pretzel.

Next is the Garlic Parmesan Pretzel Crisps. The pretzel on the bag has a dip, cherry tomato, and micro greens (I'm assuming basil).

Jacob - These are much more coated.
Nicole - I don't really like them.
Jacob - I just get salt...
Theresa - It's really mild.
Alli - I can't taste it.
Ian - It tastes like that sprinkle stuff you put on popcorn.
Joe - I get a little parmesan.
Theresa - It's mild, but I'm okay with that.
Alfredo - Yeah, it's just a hint.
Joe - I was expecting more flavor after seeing it. It looks very coated on.

Nicole - I'm starting to feel like these are "dip" pretzels. You really need to get an accompanying dip to go with them.
Alfredo - Yes, hummus, or cheese.

Buffalo Wing. The bag says it's Bold & Spicy. We'll see about that. The pretzel is topped with a corn, bean, and green onion salsa.

Joe - It looks red.
Jacob - I just want half because I'm not a buffalo fan.
Theresa - Oh I'm a buffalo fan.
Joe - Again, it's light. It's not spicy.
Theresa - You can taste it though.
Joe - You can. I can taste some flavor.
Theresa - It's more salty than hot.
Ian - Tasty.
Joe - I get the buffalo wing.
Theresa - But it's my least favorite so far.
Jacob - Me too.

Ian - It has a bit of spice to it. I like that.
Theresa - If you dipped it in ranch, it'd probably be really good.
Ian - That sounds good!
Nicole - Or a nice blue cheese dressing.

The Original. On top of the pretzel I see a dip, cucumber, carrot, and red onion.

Nicole - Hopefully they've got a good salt on it.
Joe - They look like really big salt pieces.
Nicole - That's what makes or breaks a regular pretzel.
Theresa - I love it.
Alfredo - That's an Original.
Nicole - I want some hummus, but I like it.
Ian - The original you just don't want to stop eating it.

Cheddar Cheese? Yes please! Made with REAL CHEESE.
On top of the pretzel we see a spreadable cheese, apples, and honey drizzle.

Nicole - This is normally one of my favorite flavors!
Theresa - Going in for some cheddar cheese!

Joe - Are you seeing much on it though? I'm seeing no powder.
Jacob - No. None at all.
Theresa - That is so mild.
Nicole - There's no cheese on that.
Alli - No cheese!

Nicole - The ingredients say cheddar cheese.

Joe - Jacob, look through that bag and find us one with cheese on it.
Jacob - It doesn't even smell like cheese. I don't see anything in this.
Theresa - That has to have to most mild flavor of anything we've had so far. Even the Original ones had a pretzel flavor.
Jacob - You could mix that into the original and not even know the difference.
Nicole - That is so disappointing!
Alfredo - OH! I see! You have to ADD the cheese to it.

Sea Salt & Cracked Pepper. The bag shows it topped with an onion, pineapple, and tomato salsa.

Theresa - I can actually see pepper on this one.
Joe - And I see the salt.
Alli - It's pretty good.
Jacob - And that's salt.
Nicole - I taste the pepper.
Joe - Is anyone else tasting a little sweet?
Nicole - Maybe onion powder.
Ian - I'm getting the same sour cream and onion that I was getting when we tried the Lays Salt and Pepper potato chips.
Nicole - I'm with you.
Jacob - The ingredients are blah blah blah, sea salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
Theresa - It's not bad. It'd got more flavor than the cheese.
Joe - Is that the one that has had the most flavor so far?
Nicole - I think so. I'm still bummed about cheddar cheese. So far, this is the only one I'd eat on its own. No dips in sight, I'd have this one.

Everything Pretzel Crisps. Topped with a green dip of some sort, plus a radish and micro greens.

Theresa - The Everything pretzel looks yummy!
Joe - Who likes Everything Bagels?
Theresa - I do!
Nicole - I don't.
Joe - I don't usually either.
Nicole - I'm looking for a little one.
Alfredo - I don't like it.

Joe - I don't like it either. It has poppyseed, garlic, onion, spices.
Nicole - Absolutely not.
Alfredo - That's bad, that's bad.
Ian - It's okay.
Theresa - I'd eat that.
Jacob - I dislike Everything Bagels so much that when my bagel goes through the slicer at the bagel shop, if an Everything Bagel when through before it, I taste it and have to wipe it off.
Ian - It tastes like sunflower seeds.
Alli - It's pretty good.

Last we come to Cinnamon Sugar Pretzel Crisps. Even these sweet pretzels are topped on the bag with a piece of cheese and a grape.

Nicole - Before we started this, I had some high hopes for Cinnamon Sugar.
Joe - And now your hopes are...
Nicole - I'm anticipating sadness right now.
Theresa - These look the most coated so far.
Joe - It smells good though.
Nicole - When you pick up the Dot's Cinnamon Sugar, you get that "Grandma's Warm Kitchen" smell in your face. These ones just don't compare.
Ian - It's good.
Nicole - That's... fine.
Theresa - The most flavor out of all of them.
Ian - That's Cinnamon Twists from Taco Bell.
Jacob - Yep. Cinnamon Twists.
Joe - Very Cinnamon Twisty.
Jacob - But Taco Bell never seems to have enough cinnamon and sugar.
Nicole - Maybe if you have a nice salted caramel dip, then that would be a delight. But I'd still take Dot's Cinnamon Sugar pretzels first.

Joe - So, all of these. Compared to all the Dot's pretzels we've tried. Are we saying Dot's are better overall?
Nicole - I'd say that.
Alfredo - Yeah!
Theresa - No, not for me. I love the texture of these, and I like the mild flavors. I don't need a ton of flavor.
Joe - Dot's are better in all cases.
Jacob - The only one worth it for me beside Original is the Honey Mustard.
Nicole - I'm still holding a grudge about the cheddar cheese. If it is not coated in fake cheese...
Jacob - If your fingers don't come away orange...

Nicole - The cinnamon sugar might be my favorite.
Joe - But look at all these savory ones! We're doing this for you!
Nicole - I know! I'm catching the irony.

So, let's see what the favorites are. What are everyone's top 3?

Alli - Buffalo Wing, Cinnamon Sugar, and Sea Salt & Cracked Pepper. Nothing I particularly disliked.
Ian - Honey Mustard and Onion, Buffalo Wing, Cinnamon Sugar. Everything Bagel was terrible.
Nicole - Cinnamon Sugar. I would all the others with a dip, except Everything pretzels. They get a hard pass.
Alfredo - Cinnamon Sugar, Buffalo Wing, Parmesan Garlic. I'd avoid Everything and Cracked Pepper.
Jacob - Honey Mustard, Original. Nothing else I'd really want. Everything is definitely the lowest.
Joe - Cinnamon Sugar is my favorite. But I don't love this style of pretzel. Dot's are way better. Then Buffalo Wing and Garlic Parmesan. Everything was the worst, but I agree with Alfredo, Sea Salt and Black Pepper also wasn't good.
Theresa - Honey Mustard and Onion first, then Cinnamon Sugar, then Original, Cheddar Cheese, Garlic Parmesan, Buffalo Wing, Sea Salt, then Everything.
Joe - So Everything is your least favorite?
Theresa - Yes, the flavor is just not as good. But I'd still eat them.

Well that's the 8 different flavors of Snack Factory's Pretzel Crisps. Some were winners, some were losers, all were pretty mild flavors.
